Bettie, while nothing could ever overshadown the birth of my son there as another reason I will never forget that day. I learned when I was released and arrived home from the hospital that you had passed on that very same day. I sometimes wonder if you know how big your impact really was. You were so comfortable in your own skin, and it taught so many people to acknowledge unconventional beauty. Today I believe it's the best kind. You showed people that you can have faith and follow unconventional dreams. Most of all you taught me to not be afraid. I can honestly say that without a doubt you had a hand in directing me onto the path I'm now walking. I do hope one day I can shake your hand, you were truely an inspiration who's timelessness will live forever!
